In the case of the new Caterpillar headquarter in Vrcin, near Belgrade in Serbia, the office participated in all phases of the project development with the local Caterpillar dealer manager: from the research of the area to the construction phase. In every project is essential to identify the best synthesis (not a “compromise”) between the insertion of the building in the site and the definition of its usefulness as soon as possible. Basically, to better define the function and translate it tinto a shape which meets the needs of use and an effective integration with the context.

It may seem obvious but the project development and the identification of the site often go their separate ways. The constructive hypothesis was solved considering giving compositional unit to the various functional identity, out of the stereotype to attribute the “image” component only to the offices, relegating the production in anonymous containers: the various parts come together harmonically in an organic system without solution of continuity between the various parts.
