Renovation of an apartment overlooking Villa Ada

The renovation of this 150 sqm apartment completely redefined the layout to meet the client’s needs while respecting the architectural lines of the 1960s building context.

The project is set in an architectural context protected by the Capitoline Superintendency, dating back to the 1960s. The studio handled every aspect of a complete renovation, from the design of the preliminary project to its full execution, including the design of custom-made fixed furnishings and the selection of key furniture pieces.

The apartment is distinguished by its large windows overlooking Villa Ada, which guided the design of the space division between the living and sleeping areas.

In conceiving this project, particular emphasis was placed on the selection of materials, favoring the use of high-quality elements such as warm Teak parquet, which lends the spaces timeless elegance and a welcoming feel.

Every detail was meticulously curated, from the fully custom-made fixed furniture, tailored to the owners’ needs and tastes, to the selection of specific decorative elements that add personality and character to the spaces.

Special attention was given to the design of the mechanical systems, including a fully air-based heating and cooling system with a heat pump, and the water system featuring electric water heaters and hydro-progressive design mixers to prevent water and energy waste.

The entire apartment is powered solely by electricity, with the gas supply eliminated for both the kitchen stovetop and hot water.

Particular care was also taken in the study and design of the lighting system, with a thoughtful selection of lighting fixtures, including LED strips, recessed spotlights, and designer floor lamps.
