It was assumed, both for practical and functional reasons, that the facade towards the railway needs to be standardized for obvious functional and safety reasons, but the facade towards the town needs to follow the municipality will or, at least, be shared with the crossing point. In this perspective it was developed a large scale shelter project including, in its structural basement, modular spaces required by the client. Therefore, the composition of the facade towards the town can follow a specific design from time to time connected to the places’ traditions or, if the municipality desires, change direction by modernizing the language.

It will be possible also to preserve one station’s front while changing the facade behind with a refit in relation to the railway and access to trains. In our drawings we imagined to symbolically preserve the front towards the city of the traditional small train station. The station then, as it should be, as a place of the city and a place of pause during the long-distance journey.
